We’ve received questions related to our Model 1900W-UNV being out of stock. Have we discontinued it? Absolutely not. In fact, we’ve recently updated the design and it is ready to launch. So, why is it still out of stock?
I had a very, very serious case of sciatica to deal with over the last several months. If you have experienced it, and many of us have, you know that this affliction is nearly debilitating. You cannot stand, sit, or do just about anything comfortably. Even sitting at a computer answering emails for more than 5 minutes can be a very, very painful experience that literally brings tears to your eyes or even makes you scream.
The good news is that it is improving now and we’ve re-opened the Model 1900W-UNV family availability on a limited basis (one to a customer). If they are showing out of stock, be patient–we are building up more (batches once per month) and the status will change when they are available. They sell out quickly!
Right now, only the 1900W and 1900S products require sitting to build them. The 1900S requires much less time under the microscope, so we had kept that product going although it has been a painful one to keep going.
Why not hire a professional CM to build them? Cost. We would have to double the price to cover it, since CM’s want huge product volumes and exorbitant setup charges. It’s just plain impractical. China? First, we take pride in building product in the USA. Second, quality degradation, controlling counterfeit components, and recent tariffs make it too risky with very little cost advantage, if any.
And by the way, contrary to what you might have been misled to believe, those government tariffs come out of our collective pockets, not China’s. When we buy materials, there is actually a separate line for tariffs that WE pay. And that MUST be passed on to you, the customer. We simply don’t have any choice.
We will nonetheless continue to trickle out a few as we can, as things improve, and you should see the website reflect that. We have no intention of discontinuing these products; we simply ask that you bear with us during this very trying period.
