Important Note: Clock winders and synchronizers are built in batches once per month. Please be prepared for a 3-4 week lead time on these. Timing products (such as the Model 1900S and 1900W series) require pre-shipment calibration and verification which requires time to validate quality performance (2 weeks).
Large Clock Crating and Freighting Policy.
Some customers have large clocks which require restoration. Examples are No. 18 or No. 18A clocks, which measure 45” tall x 20” wide x 10” deep. Some, like the 60-beat No. 9 and 9A, are close to 6ft long. Customers are welcome to arrange drop off at our shop by appointment only. This applies to ANY clock. We are happy to restore larger clocks, including case clean up, repair, etc.
However, as a gentle reminder, we NO LONGER crate and ship clocks that cannot fit in a 26” x 26” x 20” box, and have not done so for several years. Therefore, if your clock is larger, you must arrange for safe transport of the clock back to you. We are happy to help secure the clock for your pickup, or for pickup by a recommended crater such as Craters and Freighters found here:
Whatever means you select, we are happy to prepare the clock for transport, but will NOT crate it for shipment. We simply do not have the facilities to efficiently build shipping crates. We likewise have no relationship with crating companies and receive no discounts from them. This is therefore the responsibility of the customer.
Some customers have worked around this by shipping their clock to us in a crate. As long as the crate is well built, we can accommodate this and are happy to re-pack the clock if the crate is present and re-usable. When shipping large clocks to us in cardboard boxes, these are generally not re-usable for the return trip.
Explanation of Shipping Fees.
Unless otherwise noted at Checkout, a handling fee of $5.00 is included in each order (also covers packaging material) in the continental United States. Therefore the total shipping number shown in Checkout is the sum of the actual fee (from the carrier, usually UPS) plus this handling fee. Our standard carrier is UPS 3-Day (or UPS Ground for rechargeable batteries) in the USA and UPS International outside the USA.
We try to maintain a policy of “no minimum order dollar amount,” but handling fees cannot be avoided. Imagine processing a $6.00 (including shipping) order. In today’ world, that’s just not feasible without losing money.
Policy on return shipping: Customer assumes responsibility for shipping and handling costs, regardless of reason. Restated: Customer pays for return shipping and handling in all cases, including warranty returns.
Ken’s Clock Clinic reserves the right to adjust shipping fees or carriers to accommodate order size. If an adjustment is necessary you will be notified prior to shipment. This especially applies to international orders, although we strive to provide and adhere to best estimate possible at time of order.
